ACCENTS - PROJECT IN EARLY STAGEs OF ideation

Accents will be a modular, responsive exhibition composed of different installations that explore how speech cadence, accent, and regional dialect act as invisible social markers. The exhibition aims to expose the systemic discrimination that individuals face, based on class, race, or country of origin, through the interpretation of their speech. The audience arc begins with an audiovisual documentary portraying real stories of accent-driven discrimination.

This is followed by interactive spaces designed for participants to share their own pronunciation of words that feel universal, creating opportunities to feed back their personal stories into the installation. The exhibition culminates in an audio-tactile experience, where different speech accents and cadences are transformed into frequencies and tones, making a visceral, tangible encounter with sound.

Note: I do not use generative AI in any of my artwork or production. Use of any type of technology in Accents will be thoroughly investigated, questioned and designed following ethical principles. These principles will be part of my investigation to develop this exhibition and its different components.
